Bigger, Better, Cheaper
England has long been known for having the smallest homes in Europe along with the most expensive and poorly built. Our research series is split into three chapters, each looking at the major issues facing our housing industry. Most people will agree we need Bigger, Better and Cheaper homes but is it achievable?
This series aims to spark a conversation about 21st-century living and spatial requirements in UK contemporary homes, as they increasingly become places of work and educational attainment. Adequate space for storing possessions and entertaining guests should enhance the home as a place of comfort and delight that supports the well-being of those that live in it.
