Newfield Avenue, Hampshire

Counterbalance was commissioned to obtain planning permission for converting an existing garage into a kitchen and dining room in a semi-detached property in Farnborough, Hampshire.

The process involved measuring the property and producing the necessary planning drawings, both existing and proposed. These drawings were submitted to the local authority, Rushmoor Borough Council. Counterbalance managed the entire process on behalf of the client, including all communications with the planning department. The application was successful, and permission was granted. The project was completed in 2023.

While garage conversions can often be carried out under permitted development rights, it was decided, in consultation with the client, to seek full planning permission due to the change of the roof from flat to pitched.

Client - Elise:

"Gareth was friendly, knowledgeable and honest. He came over, measured our space and created a design. Once we had approved the design, he submitted it to planning. He had excellent communication with us and kept us informed every step of the way. Our plans were approved and construction is currently underway. We were really happy with his services and would highly recommend."
